Empowering Futures and Commitment to Education Equity

Yayasan Teman Aksara Cita Harapan Indonesia or Yayasan TEACH Indonesia is an Indonesian based Non-Governmental Organization. It has been legalized since 2019 by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia. The organization focuses on providing education for marginal and underprivileged children and youths in Palembang City. One of the main programs of the organization is called ‘Teman Mengabdi’- an educational program for children and youths in the orphanages. The program is established to support the education equality movement by teaching fundamental literacy & numeracy and basic English skills. TEACH has established partnerships with more than 25 orphanages and has more than 200 volunteers. There are approximately 2500 children and youths involved in this program. In 2019 the program was funded by Lippo Group (Aryaduta Palembang). Also, TEACH has collaborated with more than 30 youth organizations, institutions, and media. It is hoped that this small step will reach 5000 children and youths from marginal and underprivileged by 2026.
